Dinushki wins WFM Title - Congratulations Dinushki |

Dinushki
Premanath, the Women's National Champion of Sri Lanka achieved the
requirements for the Women's FIDE Master title on the last round
of the Chess Olympiad yesterday. She scored a total of 6 points
out of 9 games. She will be the 4th person to achieve this title
after Pramodya Senanayake, Nirmala Chandrasiri and Supeshala thilakawardena.

Mr. Luxman Wijesuriya elected unanimously as the General Secretary of the Commonwealth Chess Championship for another 4 year term in the FIDE Congress 2010 in Khanty-Mansiysk, Russia. He was honourd by appointing him as the Asian Zone 3.2 after establishing a new single zone to india. The most important news that Sri Lankan Federation is assigned to host the most prestegious Asian Youth Chess Championships in 2012. |
