Chess Workshop at Army Rehabilitation Centre (Ranaviru Sevana), Ragama.

A Chess Seminar and a practical program was conducted by Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya, the Chairperson of Lanka Chess Foundation and the President of the Anatoly Karpov Chess Club with the help of Mr. Bandula Withanage, Webmaster of www.lankachess.com at Army Rehabilitation Centre (Ranaviru Sevana), Ragama. There were about 50 disable soldiers and few officials were participated in this program. Chess hand books were distributed by the Anatoly Karpov Chess Club for all the participants and also 5 chess boards were donated to the Rehabilitation Centre for the use of these participants.
Major Karavitage and Captain Weerasinghe with the help of senior officers were organized this chess camp. Anatoly Karpov Chess Club of the Russian Centre has been conducted this type of chess coaching program also in year 2003.
