The Wayamba university A team consisted of Nuwan Liyanage,
WSN Chandraratne, WLC Chandraratne, AMCB Alahakoon, WSVK Koggala, HB
Dassanayake and CD Manawasekara emerged champions at the Finals of the
Inter Club B Chess Championship conducted by the Chess Federation of
Sri Lanka from 5th to 7th February at the same venue. They scored a
total of 22 1/2 points out of 30 games after a close battle.
Reborn Youth Chess Club won the 2nd place with 20 points and Black and
Gold Chess Club won the third place with 19 points.
The top two teams of the Inter Club B Chess Championship will qualified
to play in the Super League Chess Championships next year.
Both these tournaments belongs to the 2009/10 calender of the Chess
Federation of Sri Lanka.
