given tournament schedule has to be changed due to two emergency
reasons. 1.Government
has declared the school vaccation from 1st 20th of April 2010
considering the elections. 2. FIDE has given a deadline
for Chess Olympiad entries as 20th May 2010. This was noticed
only a week before.

A very successful chess coaching
camp was conducted by Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya, President of
the Anatoly Karpov Chess Club of the Russian Centre and the
Chairperson of Lanka Chess Foundation. There were more than
300 students from various schools in Alawwa together with teachers
