| The 3rd Anniversary celebrations and the Annual Award Ceremony of Lanka Chess Academy International (Pvt) Ltd was held recently at the Public Library Auditorium. Mr. Milton Amarasinghe, Adviser to the Sport Minister and the Chairman of the National Sports Counsil graced the event as the Chief Guest and Mrs. W.B.G. Kumudunie, Principal of Rathnavali Balika Vidyalaya participated as the Guest of Honour. |

were over 500 participants including 300 prize winners and parents.By
welcoming all Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya, Director and the Principal of
LCAI mentioned that she is very happy about three courses conduct by the
Academy in 17 branches under the syllabus made by her as basic advanced
1 and 2. She thanked all the LCAI Instructors for their support towards
the success of the institute. |

addressing the gathering, the Chief Guest Mr. Amarasinghe mentioned that
he is really happy to know about the service rendered by Lanka Chess Academy
among 17 branches. He further added that he knew about the untiring work
done by Mrs. Suneetha Wijesuriya to promote the game of chess for last
25 years without thinking about any personal benefits. |

| LCAI
awarded Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the winners of the age group
chess tournament they conducted among the chess players in Advanced 1
and 2 courses in year 2017. Excellent, very good and good level certificates
distributed to the students in Basic Level who sat for the exam in 2017. |
